stacking stone sculpture

$500.00

made from low fire clay, this stacking sculpture was fired in a sawdust pit firing at the shadbolt center. pit firing is one of the most ancient firing techniques, and it creates incredible variety in color and pattering from the combustible elements that are added to the kiln. for this pot, I used copper wiring, coffee grounds, seaweed, and corn husks to achieve this surprising finish. this sculpture is dear to my heart, and was made for my first solo show which happened earlier this year. this sculpture can be displayed together or as two separate pieces.

low fire clay is delicate and must be handed with care. this piece remains porous, use soft cloth to dust only.

available for pick-up only
